Cinnamon, Sugar and Raisins Stuffed Baked Apples

Print Friendly and PDF
Wanted to make something different with an apple and here it is. Never stuffed and baked an apple before. Source: A website from Google search. Can't remember which one though.
Ingredients:
  • 4 medium Gala/Cameo or any baking apples
  • 1/2 tbsp Butter, at room temperature
For the Sauce:
  • 1/2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
For the fillings:
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon powder
  • 4 tbsp Brown Sugar, packed
  • 1/4 Cup Dry Craisins + Raisins
  • 1/4 Cup Walnuts, toasted and crumbled
Procedure:
  • Clean and Core the apples to within 1/4th of an inch. ie: Make a cavity for the the filling without going through.
  • Peel 1/4" on the top of the apples.
  • Half way down apple, thinly score through the skin. Make the score around the entire periphery of apple to help keep apples from splitting in the oven. Apply 1/4th of the 1/2tbsp butter inside the cavities and on the top of the apples. Set aside.
  • Mix the filling ingredients and set aside.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Grease a 8" inch square pan or any rectangular pan of similar size with a bit of butter.
  • Mix all the ingredients for the sauce and add a tbsp of this sauce inside the apple's cavity.
  • Pour the remaining sauce in the baking pan.
  • Spoon a tbsp of filling inside each apple's cavity.
  • Mix the leftover fillings with the sauce inside the pan.
  • Place the apples in the pan and bake at 350 degrees F for 50 minutes to an hour.
Enjoy!
